Windy again for the second day of the SWA Aussie Kiss event at Weymouth. Today though the event organisers deemed it too windy to send the beginners out, so us instructors were left free to go sailing all day. Damn.

Arrived much later than yesterday with Andy and Fiona and my hangover from last nights fancy-dress party, but the sight of wind and then being told that I could go windsurfing all day soon sorted that out. For my first 90 minute session before lunch it was proper honking and I was fully stacked on my 5.2, but then after lunch the wind had dropped off a fraction, leaving me just nicely powered up after releasing a bit of outhaul from the sail.

Typical Portland harbour flat water easy conditions were the order of the day, although the Easterly wind direction threw up a bit of chop for one or two nice jumps. Gybing got better as the day wore on, and by the end I was making pretty much all my gybes, although most of them were fairly wobbly and not that pretty. The Bee was perfect for the wind + water state, and the more I sail it the more I realise what a nice board it is in the right conditions. Properly exciting fast, more so than just about anything else that was out on the water today, yet controllable with a touch of wave-board looseness about it - definitely much more so than the Axxis. Would be interesting to take it out in some proper waves to see how well it wave-rides.

All in all a great long session of fully powered up blasting in easier conditions which meant I was sailing well, much better than either of my previous 2 sessions at Lepe and Calshot. Plus some crowds to perform to (Andy + Fiona + others) resulting in many words of admiration from them when I came off the water. All good.
